Example:

Compensation
Meaning:

Why it matters:
Negotiations often focus on compensation, such as salary or fees.
Example:

Confidentiality
Meaning:
The duty to keep information private.
Why it matters:
Many contracts include confidentiality clauses to protect sensitive information.
Example:
“Employees must maintain confidentiality about company data.”
Counteroffer
Meaning:
A new offer made in response to an original offer, with changes.
Why it matters:
Negotiations often involve several counteroffers before agreement.
Example:
“We made a counteroffer with a lower price and longer timeline.”
